Welcome to Room 24's blog for 2020. We are an energetic Year 2 class and our teachers are Mrs Sue Dijkstra and Mrs Kylie Smith. We are looking forward to working together and learning lots of exciting and new things this year! Please check our blog regularly to see what we have been up to. We would love to read your comments.
Elizabeth you have put so much time and effort into your solar system poster and research, watching a movie is a great way to find out more facts! Do you have a favourite planet? Rory I think your drawings are amazing, you are very artistic, maybe you will be an artist one day? Astin your art work is also great, especially the art you have created with things out of the garden, very creative. And what a lovely picture about your sister, displaying your kindness and empathy, that is very special and you have taken lots of time to think about this and draw it. Well done.
Room 24 WOW! I’m exhausted just reading about the AMAZING learning you’ve been doing at home. The artwork, kind messages and helping others is lovely. I learnt a few new things from you!
Room 24, you must be some of the hardest working and thoughtful students at Sunnyhills School. Mrs Dijkstra must be very proud of the way you are putting your Sunnyhills GEMS and Learning Powers into action. I saw examples of our Growth Gem from Elizabeth, Alex and Astin being curious and asking questions. Rory, Tai, Maia, Oscar, Astin and Andrew were creative which once again is an example of our Growth Gem. Our Empathy, Mana and Self Belief Learning Powers were shining through too with lots of examples of kindness, doing your best and perseverance from you all. Well done! Keep up the good work!
Oh my! Elizabeth your poster is out of this world! I can see that you have done a lot of research and thinking about space. Great job! Rory your cartoons are beautiful. I wonder if you will make a story using them? Tai, your ANZAC art looks gorgeous. It's so lovely of your family to remember the ANZAC soldiers. Wow Astin you have done so much learning! Keep up the hard work.
Such a lot of AMAZING work from Room 24! It's great to see Tai, Astin Maia and Oscar making poppies in commemoration of Anzac Day and all of the wonderful art work done by Astin, Andrew and Rory. Lots of interesting information about planets from Elizabeth - you are an amazing researcher! We dropped some cans off in the afternoon and they'd had to borrow another trailer from a friend because so many people had donated - what a caring community we live in!
Awesome research into the solar system Elizabeth. Rory, you could become a cartoon artist when you get big! Nice job with the poppies Tai. Beautiful garden art Astin. Oh Alex, I did that and my favourite drink bottle cracked last week too! Very sad! We are lucky to live in New Zealand aren't we Andrew. It is beautiful. From Mrs Burge I love your poppies Maia.
