Welcome to Room 24's blog for 2020. We are an energetic Year 2 class and our teachers are Mrs Sue Dijkstra and Mrs Kylie Smith. We are looking forward to working together and learning lots of exciting and new things this year! Please check our blog regularly to see what we have been up to. We would love to read your comments.
Mushrooms are delicious to eat but I think you are sensible NOT eating those ones, just in case, Melissa. What a delicious, healthy lunch box Maia! That sushi looks deeeeelicious Niko! I wish I could make it! What a cool idea Astin, kindness notes are such a good idea! We should remember to do that when we are out of lockdown too! Very cool drawings and writing Sasindu about day and night! Great job! Setting up a shop is an awesome lockdown activity, Indie. Did you sell much? You are so clever Annie learning Chinese! Well done. You are very good at riding a bike, Alex. It will keep you fit too! I've been on my wobble board a lot this holidays! From Mrs Burge
It's great to see all the activities you've been doing Room 23. I have mushrooms growing on my lawn as well, Melissa. Maia, I'd love to eat your yummy, healthy lunch. Way to go making sushi, Niko. Astin, your kindness notes are lovely. I'm going to write some now as well. How's your shop going, Indi? Are you getting lots of customers? I'm very impressed with your Chinese writing, Annie. It looks like you've been doing lots of practice. What a great time you're having out exploring your local area, Alex. From Miss King.
Wow what a huge variety of learning activities room 24 has been doing at home. From opening shops, baking, making sushi, boxing, chinese caligraphy, rock painting, helping around the house and building with lego, you've been such busy beavers. Niko I love the cup telephones, and your work on learning the times tables Astin, Indi I think I need to visit your shop, I need a new bag!
What a lot of wonderful learning you are doing Room 24. Melissa, it is great to see you fitting in time to read non fiction books. Have you found out some new interesting facts? Melissa you and Annie will have to show one another the Chinese characters you have learnt when you get back to school. I wonder if they will be the same. So many of you have been helping with cooking or baking at home, Maia, I will have to search on the internet for the recipe for the Anzac slice, it looks delicious. Niko you have inspired me to make some sushi, I haven't done so for such a long time and it is one of my favourite foods. Astin, I'm sure Mummy would have had a grateful heart after you helped her make pasta for dinner, that was such a kind, helpful thing to do. Alex, you are so lucky to have seen a kereru on your outdoor adventures, it is one of my favourite native birds. Are you going to redesign and create another boat with lighter masts and sail to see if it will float, it was such a shame that it sank because it looked really good. Indie, I am very impressed that you have thought of how you are going to keep yourself and your customers safe in your shop. You must be getting lots of practice at giving change to you customers. Well done everyone. Keep up the good work.
Wow, Mrs Dijkstra, you must be so excited to open you emails each morning! So much wonderful learning is happening for Room 24. Niko, I love sushi. You will have to tell me how to make it when you come back to school......and I love Anzac biscuits too. Astin, those kindness notes are such a lovely idea. I wish my big boys did that for me!
Oh my gosh so much fabulous work Room 24. Where to start!!!!! Melissa I love mushrooms but you are right that you need to be sure that they are safe to eat. I am pleased that you are reading non fiction books and practicing finding information. Niko you have inspired me to have a go again. Astin that was such a kind, helpful thing to do to make mum make pasta for dinner. Very cool drawings and writing Sasindu about day and night! Great job. Alex, you are lucky to have seen a kereru on your outdoor adventures. They are one of our most beautiful native birds. It was such a shame that that your boat sank. Have you thought what you will do differently next time. Perhaps you could have another go? What a cool idea Astin, kindness notes are such a good idea! Everyone should do that while we are in lockdown. Indie, I am very impressed that you have thought of how you are going to keep yourself and your customers safe in your shop.
